HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Over the years, technology has dramatically changed the way people operate in modern day-to-day society. There has been an overwhelming response with many different groups of people using technology to make their lives simpler and more efficient. Many companies have entered the forefront of technology including Sony, Apple, Samsung, and Toshiba; one of the biggest companies to sculpt the technology landscape is Microsoft. Microsoft has contributed to the technology revolution in a variety of ways and has participated in multiple markets to contribute to a large-scale change.
In January of 1975, Microsoft was founded by two young men by the names of Bill Gates and Paul Allen. They came up with the idea after looking at a magazine which demonstrated the microcomputer Altair 8800. They manipulated the design to fit their program, BASIC, for the computer. They impressed the creators of the Altair 8800 and moved to Albuquerque where they co-founded Micro-soft; a year later it was renamed by removing the hyphen. The foundation for Microsoft was for them to put emphasis on the software that went into the computers rather than the hardware that the computers were made up of.
Now Microsoft is influential in computer operating systems and in the office suite (Microsoft Office) markets. The company also produces other software for desktops and servers and is in area including internet search, video gaming, mobile phones and is visible in cloud computing.
MICROSOFT IN INDIA
After successfully launching Microsoft’s cloud services, they underlined the importance of India in its overall cloud services strategy. Microsoft utilized Zinnov Management Consulting to help come to that conclusion. Microsoft reiterated the fact that India had potential to emerge as the global centre for cloud services. Zinnov’s research estimated that the global cloud computing market to be over $70 billion by 2015. With India having over 1300 independent software vendors, 1.4 million developers and more than 11,000 custom software development organizations, it was indeed a great opportunity. With the opportunities, an additional 300,000 jobs related to cloud services would be created in the next 5 years.

These services typically provide access to advanced software applications and high-end networks of server computers.
Computing as we know it today consists of several pieces before actually connecting to the internet; you need to have equipment such as the server(s), the network, connection to the internet, and of course the user. By using the cloud, you will eliminate all hardware, except for the user device, in turn you will purchase the services needed. Cloud computing can be defined as the set of hardware, network, storage, services, and interfaces combined to deliver computing as a service. The services include the delivery of those services based on the demand from the user. Many companies are offering services from the cloud. Some notable examples are as follows:
Google – They have a private cloud that it uses to deliver many different services to its users to include email access, maps and much more. Salesforce.com – They run their applications that are set for customers in the cloud. They provide developers with platforms to build customized cloud services through Force.com and Vmforce.com. Microsoft – They...
